Hello Crafties!
Man, where did this year go? Certainly a lot has occurred in the last few months and it has all felt like a whirlwind. Nevertheless, I hope you're all doing well and your ends have been magically woven in!
For me, it seems as though a fire hose of new information and adjustments have been unleashed on me in some great ways. So here, I want to recap and talk about some of the things I have planned for the future!
What Has Been...
May 4th, 2024 was the real marker of change here at Infiniti Crafting Co. It was the day I graduated and the day I officially announced my departure from tutorial creation. It's been sorta difficult on my part to maintain that stance but overall, I think it has been for the better as far as my creativity and mental health.
After 2 years, I was able to get my teeth worked on! In September of 2022, I fell on my face at a gas station and broke one of my front teeth. In that time, it'd been hell both mentally and in reality battling several life emergencies while trying to find a competent dentistry to repair it. I can't put enough emphasis on how valuable it was to me to finally start this work because I've been able to regain my normal mode of speech and eat normal things again. That is in part due to the support I've had through Hey Craftepreneur! and so I to say a special thanks to my patrons there AND those who continue to support the Handmade Shop!
About mid-May I got recruited for a job in insurance. I'd been considering that route since 2022 when I was offered a job right after my mom died. I never had time because of school but I knew it was about the only thing I had lined up after graduating if I didn't want to teach. In July I passed my state exam and got my insurance license! It was super exciting but also a little nerve wracking. 😬
I've got July's pattern up for HC! members! I'd been fiddling with the Kobold Hooded Cowl for a hot minute. And despite the processing delays, the Sentro design has been released into the wild!
A Rewind In Pictures!
What Will Be...
I'm still acclimating to my new job! I really like it and it allows me to have a similar amount of freedom that running the channel did. It's also competitive but the people there are really positive and pleasant so it doesn't seem overwhelming. It's been a slow start so far but it gives me something to strive for and with the right touch, will enable me to ultimately meet my life goals. I take each day at a time and ask the Lord for continual guidance as I maneuver this new path.
My grandma is recovering well and is stubbornly determined to move on her own again. I love to see her progress and am thankful to God that her condition was reversible. It's going to take time to get back to where she was but we can't even complain.
I'm still knitting on that cardigan from July 4th (shocker!) I know I'll be working on this thing for a long while as I start focusing more on Hey Craftepreneur! content but it's my hope to have the written pattern done as a freebie for next summer. I've thought about doing a special video project for my patrons but I can't think ahead that far on a project like this. It's sport weight entrelac after all and will take forever, actually. 🤣
Speaking of patrons, the next project I'm going to put out is the Razzle Sweater! You might recall the grand reveal I did over New Years' of the design I planned in 2022. It had a wonderful reception and I was excited to get into the production of the tutorial. I stopped off half-way through the project for my mental health but, I'm aiming to have this completed for release in September this year!
My final bit for what will be is ... BLOGGING!
I've been wanting to get back to my writing roots and admittedly, falling into the routine is hard. The one thing that has kept me typing though is that this is the only means I have at the moment to communicate with my community since shutting it all down. As I move forward with my other career path, I still want to be present for this one. So I'm trying to pre-plan some content to write about in 2025.
As the days and weeks pass by, I'm working to create a line up so that I can post here at least weekly next year. Then if I have any extra updates ( I will) I can pepper them in. This blog content will consist of helpful crafting advise and personal blogs while randomly touching on the other blog categories present on the blog tabs.
I want to figure out how to get that filter menu back for my mobile readers so bear with me on that!
Maybe next year will even be good enough for me to do a huge website redesign too! But we shall see what the Lord has in store for us next year.
That's about it for today! Thanks for being in my community and taking time to check out these updates.
Until next time,
Happy Making! 💖
