Good Day Crafties!
Amid designing patterns for my brand, every now and again something random inspires me for a little selfish knitting. A dear friend of mine from college has this sweater that I adored at the time and I told her not to be shocked if I turned up having knit my own.
Of course life has been happening so a couple of years have gone by since I mentioned that but she was so kind to send me a picture of it for my reference. But let's rewind a bit.
Back in the middle of February, I launched a poll on my YouTube Channel randomly asking about color combinations. I won't lie, I was expecting inverse results but that fact reminded me of this project plan because I'd kind of forgotten! 😅
To be fair, I've recently discovered about 2 crochet wips, I'm actively working on a sport weight project from last year and producing the tutorial for the Flora Snood. I've had to sit everything in plain sight over in the craft room to keep track.
Anyhoo, I digress!
I'm super excited to start knitting my version of this sweater. For one, I'm going to use a totally different stitch pattern because of course I am! For two The yarn I'm planning on using is that Bernat Forever Fleece Finer yarn I got from Michael's back in 2022. Like all great yarns, it got discontinued and I sulked about it for a time. But one day in February while running errands for my grandmother, I ran across their Loops & Threads Skinny Chenille which is comparable in size/weight even if the label says otherwise.
Seeing that yarn is what inspired the community poll.

This is the sweater in question and putting my own spin on it is going to be super fun! I'm looking to cast on this month or at the end of April so I can have it for the fall.
For this project I have:
4 - Bernat Forever Fleece Finer - Zing
2 Loops & Threads Skinny Chenille - Duckling
2 Loops & Threads Skinny Chenille - Hummingbird
Let's see where this adventure takes us!
